Who is FECN News at Palm Coast Community News

Flagler Estates community news (FECN for short) is a legal enterprise in Florida owned and operated by John Hogan of Hastings Florida (here in the Flagler Estates sub division of Hastings). Back in 1992 I started learning about the Internet and the power of obtaining information over the Web (which was very young yet back in 1992). I used the web to look for information I needed which was NOT available via any other means.

I was looking for information which was sensitive information regarding Dental Injuries of a specific sort and which I suffered via the hands of a not so good Dentist in the St Augustine area. After all the rhetoric regarding such injuries from the state of Florida department of professional regulations, Dental community itself including the ADA in Chicago, all the way up to the President of the USA offices and everyone in between, I FOUND MORE information in hours on the Internet than all these others combined!

I found out a LOT about American Dentistry today which WILL SHOCK YOU ALL but we won't go into that here. The most important thing I learned is that there WAS a need for some sort of information resource which ENABLED people which had needs for similar information and resources, and the ability to communicate effectively with other like minded SOULS.

SOOoooo, I setup a Non Profit Corp of my own, Got the books I needed to create my own online solutions to address the issues and create my own Online community for effectively addressing the issues at hand, and have been basically here to do the same today...

My non profit never made me a single DIME, yet WAS successful in many ways and even helped a LOT on getting certain Medical Laws on the books today which give the patient MUCH more rights than before I began...

I had honed my HTML skills, CGI skills, and some Java skills, Graphics and animations skills at this point. I continued to support my non profit of course on my new dedicated server and systems for several more years. From 1996 till around 2001 I setup and hosted several other such community interest type sites AT NO COST TO THEM AT ALL. I also began my PAID FOR site designs and hosting services during this same time period.

With the advent of our Affordnet Services offerings (new business name) it was (and still is) all about professional yet low cost services (hence the name Affordnet)... We formed a sub group of Affordnet services called '1st Look Design Group' during this time.. 1st Look Design Group WAS a local area group (mostly in St Augustine) of other area experts in a vertical aligned type market to our own web designs/hosting services offerings.

As you can see from the above, we have been creating and managing community oriented type web sites for many years. We do this because it is GOOD for the community, helps give the community a SPAM FREE Family safe and fun place to enjoy and learn from, and of course also helps us as well by getting the word out about our pro service offerings within the community.
